LIVING BY THE HOLY SPIRIT

2 Timothy 1:9 He has saved us and called us to a holy life--not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time.

As we all know we are called for HOLY LIVING and to LIVE BY THE HOLY SPIRIT by dying to our flesh completely so that we can be blessed with GOD’s PRESENCE and with full assurance of the eternal blessings for which we hope and eagerly wait for.

When we are BORN OF SPIRIT, we are blessed with the WONDERFUL COUNSELOR to give us understanding and to counsel us and to teach us the GOODNESS of GOD and help us to walk in THE WAY of the LORD.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.

In Old Testament, GOD told the sinners who was sexually immoral to be stoned because we cannot die to our flesh without the POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT and HOLY SPIRIT is given to us so that we can put our flesh to death and to LIVE BY THE HOLY SPIRIT ALONE.

Romans 8:13 For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.

HOLY SPIRIT IS THE EXCELLENT TEACHER AND WE ARE THE STUDENTS.

HOLY SPIRIT is THE EXCELLENT TEACHER who came to teach us, dumb students. A patient would not get well immediately when Doctor enters but the process of curing the diseases would start and we can get better day by day as we obey the HOLY SPIRIT.

But those who are Born in SPIRIT are in the process of moving from Flesh to SPIRIT-Filled life. This is the spiritual warfare inside every true believer of CHRIST. As we listen and obey the HOLY SPIRIT and meditate on GOD’s WORD, we feed the SPIRITUAL man more and the flesh becomes weaker and dies. Many believers are not moving ahead spiritually because they are not trying or happy where they are or they do not want to fight the spiritual warfare, they may be tired, helpless, scared.... but the WORD of GOD says battle is GOD's not ours.

Romans 8:11 And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

When we read and mediate on GOD's WORD, GOD's WORD does not stand still inside us but it acts more powerfully than any medicine to cure our diseased bodies. As the WORD of GOD is sharper than double-edged sword. It penetrates through the soul, spirit, joints.... BIBLE also says GOD's WORD does not return empty without fulfilling it.

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

If a believer is struggling with sin in some area and unable to overcome because sin has seized him because of his personal desire for it. If repented, no sin can hold a disciple of CHRIST if it is not his personal desire . BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST IS SO POWERFUL THAT NO SINFUL STAIN CAN REMAIN. Sometimes even if you desire to do good and try hard to get rid of your weaknesses because flesh within you is still more stronger, you cannot carry out your good desires because sin has seized you in that area. The sinful desire should be put to death from your mind, heart and flesh through the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST. We need only touch of the SAVIOR and to be filled by the HOLY SPIRIT to overcome any sin or problem.

Romans 7:18 For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.

The more we submit to the HOLY SPIRIT, we are more victorious. Even if you had sinful desire long ago and if it is not washed away by the BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST, it becomes sin and gets stronger day by day. LORD JESUS can only work in us Powerfully when we submit to HIM and confess our sins completely, otherwise we limit HIS POWER in our bodies and life.

James 1:15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.

To put our sins to death and to bring us to life LORD JESUS went through Baptism on CROSS for us, and HE rose again on the third day defeating the death for us to give us eternal life. When we are Baptized into CHRIST we are blessed with HIS eternal victory on the CROSS.
